Still Friends, Still Smiling – Easter Monday Reunion

Time really does fly.

This Easter Monday, Yoyo had the chance to reunite with some of her old kindergarten friends, and it was one of those simple yet meaningful moments that makes you pause and reflect.

Looking at this photo, I can hardly believe how quickly these little ones have grown. It feels like only yesterday they were seeing each other almost every day at kindy — playing side by side, learning together, laughing over the smallest things, and building those sweet early friendships that seem so natural in childhood.

Now, many of them have already started primary school. Some are at the same school, while others have gone to different ones. Life has naturally taken them in different directions, with new routines, new classrooms, and new friends. And yet, what touched me most was seeing that many of the friendships formed in those kindergarten days are still remembered so fondly.

There was something especially heartwarming about watching them come back together during Easter. Even after time apart, there was still a sense of familiarity, ease, and joy between them. It reminded me that childhood friendships can leave a very gentle but lasting mark. Even when children grow, change schools, and begin new chapters, the happiness they once shared can still live quietly in their hearts.

This gathering was more than just a holiday catch-up. It felt like a small reunion of a precious season of life — a season that has already passed so quickly, yet remains so vivid in memory. The adults chatted, the children played, and for a little while, it felt as if time had folded in on itself. The kindy days were gone, but not completely. They were still here, in the smiles, in the way the children recognized one another, and in the warmth of being together again.

Easter is often a time of renewal, joy, and togetherness, and this little reunion carried all of that in the most natural way. It was a beautiful reminder that while childhood moves quickly, the connections made during those early years can still be deeply meaningful.

I know the children will keep growing, and the years ahead will bring even more changes. They will meet new friends, discover new interests, and continue becoming their own little people. But I hope that somewhere in their memories, these early friendships will always remain as a soft and happy part of growing up.

This Easter Monday gave us more than just a lovely gathering. It gave us a chance to look back, smile, and feel grateful — for friendship, for shared memories, and for the joy of seeing old friends together again.
